Every food business must have a documented food safety management system. You need to say how you make safe food and have this written down. The amount of documentation relates to the type of food you prepare or handle and the risks presented by your business.

Consideration has been given to help smaller food businesses comply with food regulations without introducing an unnecessary burden. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has developed Safer Food Better Business (SFBB).

MyHACCP for small food manufacturing businesses

MyHACCP is an online tool for small food manufacturing businesses in the UK, although businesses in other food sectors may find it useful.

It guides businesses through identifying food safety hazards and controls and the production of a documented food safety management system based on HACCP principles.
