The council welcomes petitions and recognises that petitions are one way in which people can let us know their concerns.

All petitions sent or presented to the council will receive an acknowledgement from the council within 14 days of receipt. This acknowledgement will set out what we plan to do with the petition.

Petitions can be created, signed and submitted on our moderngov portal.

 Submit or search an e-petition

To set up a new petition, you must register as an e-petitions user. Once you have signed in, click 'Submit a new ePetition' and follow the instructions on screen.

To sign a petition, click the title you're interested in to see the information about the topic. If you want to sign, complete the details requested and click the 'Sign' button.

Paper petitions can be sent to:

Monitoring Officer
Legal and Democratic Services
South Kesteven District Council
Council Offices
The Picture House
St. Catherins Road
NG31 6TT

Petitions can also be presented to a meeting of the council. These meetings take place six times a year. See dates and times of meetings on moderngov

If you would like to present your petition to the council, or would like your councillor to present it on your behalf, please contact our Monitoring Officer on 01476 40 60 80 at least 10 working days before the meeting to talk you through the process.

If your petition has received 5,000 signatures or more it will also be scheduled for a council debate and if this is the case we will let you know whether this will happen at the same meeting or a later meeting of the council.
