Tenancy support for private landlords

Calling all landlords. Are you considering giving notice to your tenants?

SKDC has a new, free, specialist service to assist private sector landlords who are looking to serve notice on their tenants.

The service can provide all the help and assistance landlords need to prevent a s21 or s8 notice being issued.
SKDC can help and offer advice on anything tenancy related including:

  • A personalised housing plan agreed with the tenant

  • Rent arrears assistance through housing benefit services, Universal Credit, local government homeless prevention funds and charities

  • A financial assessment of tenants to maximise income

  • Referrals and signposting to specialist services for more long-term support should the need be identified

  • A mediation service between landlords, tenants and local authorities

SKDC recognises that eviction is often the last resort and is a costly process. The Council is committed to preventing homelessness at the earliest opportunity and urge you to contact 'Call B4 You Serve', so that we can help you and your tenants before it's too late.

If you are a local landlord and this applies to you then please contact one of our CB4YS Officers for all tenancy related advice.
