Road traffic regulation consultations and orders

Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO's) constitute a major power for the regulation and control of traffic in the county.

Lincolnshire County Council make TRO's to control or restrict the movement or waiting of traffic to:

  • improve the safety of road users

  • prevent serious damage to roads or buildings

  • facilitate traffic flows

  • preserve or improve amenities

Examples of TRO's are:

  • double/single yellow lines

  • one-way streets

  • resident parking areas

  • loading bays

Most result from input from local communities or the police, to address specific problems or quality of life issues.

If you want to comment on a Traffic Regulation Order currently under consultation, to support or object against, a written response must be made to Lincolnshire County Council.
