Car park resurfacing

South Street Car Park in Bourne is to close for four days for an essential upgrade.

Resurfacing, relining of the spaces and associated work will be carried out from Sunday 15th June at 5pm until Thursday 19th June, when it will be open as usual.

During this period there will be no public parking.

Alternatives nearby include the SKDC-operated Burghley St Car Park or the privately operated parking next to Marks & Spencer which also serves the SKDC’s Community Access Point.

Local businesses with a right of access will be unaffected.

Cabinet Member for Property, Cllr Richard Cleaver said: “SKDC is pleased to be able to carry out this essential work to improve the parking area for local people and visitors to the area.

“We will aim to reopen the car park at the earliest opportunity to ensure minimum disruption to the public.

“During all the work, access will only be allowed for business owners/staff for premises on West Street that already have a right of access to their own parking areas at the rear of their premises.”
