Every householder across South Kesteven is about to receive a personalised letter advising them of their new waste and recycling collection day.
It’s because South Kesteven District Council will shortly change all bin and sack collection rounds to create more efficient and straightforward routes.
Every household will see a change – either to their collection day or the time their bin is emptied (or sacks collected for those who don’t have a wheelie bin).
Bins and sacks will still be emptied every week and follow the same cycle as they do now.
For full details of which week residents’ various waste and recycling will be collected can be found on the printed calendar being sent to each household or by visiting www.southkesteven.gov.uk/binday.
Bins will also get a sticker in the coming weeks with important information and contact details for all information and FAQs. Some Frequently Asked Questions are also enclosed and are available online at www.southkesteven.gov.uk/binsupdate.
This applies to all types of collections: For wheelie bin customers – black, silver, purple lidded (and green waste if subscribed) and for sack customers – pink and clear.
South Kesteven District Council Deputy Chief Executive Richard Wyles said: “The new collections will start on Monday 15th September and householders still need to put their bins out by 7.30am on the correct day for their new collection.
“It is the first large scale change to bin collection rounds in South Kesteven for 12 years so we urge everyone to read the information we’re supplying and work together to help us make a success of this change.”
