Celebrate Easter in South Kesteven

Residents are being invited to take part in special Easter fun searching for giant eggs hidden throughout South Kesteven.

The free Giant Easter Egg Hunt has been organised by South Kesteven District Council’s Arts and Cultural Services Team working in partnership with local primary schools, community groups and businesses.

The wooden eggs, built by local artist Simon Kieffer from Outwood CIC, will be hand-decorated by talented pupils from primary schools and community groups and hidden in Grantham, Stamford, Market Deeping and Bourne.

They stand at nearly 3 foot tall and will be hidden in participating businesses, parks and shops across the four towns.

Those taking part will have the chance to seek out the eggs whilst solving puzzles on the trail.

Once all the eggs have been found and the puzzles solved, participants can return to the starting point to receive a sweetie reward.

They will also have the chance to enter a prize draw to win tickets for upcoming shows at the Guildhall Arts Centre or Stamford Arts Centre.

In Grantham, visitors will be able to take in the sights of Wyndham Park as they embark on the trail. Starting from the Wyndham Park Visitor Centre on Saturday 30th March 2024 between 10am and 2pm.

The popular Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven Duck Race will also return with races starting at 12pm. Tickets will be priced at £1 per duck and are available for purchase on the White Bridge from 10am on 30th March.

Trail tickets for Grantham are free-of-charge but require pre-booking on the Guildhall Arts Centre website: www.guildhallartscentre.com/whats-on/all-shows/wyndham-park-easter-trail-and-duck-race-2024

In Market Deeping, the event will coincide with the Deeping Community Library’s Easter Family Funday with the trail starting from the library on Saturday 30th March at 10am until 2pm. The trail is free of charge with no booking required.

Easter celebrations begin on Wednesday 3rd April in Bourne with free children’s arts and crafts workshops hosted at the Bourne Corn Exchange.

Children will have the opportunity to craft beautiful spring flowers and contribute to decorating the giant Easter egg for the Corn Exchange.

The sessions are suitable for children aged three years and older and free to attend. Pre-booking is required online at: www.guildhallartscentre.com/whats-on/all-shows/spring-flowers-arts-and-crafts-workshop-free-activity
