New councillors elected in November 9 by-election

Matt Bailey (Conservative) has been elected to South Kesteven District Council in yesterday's (Nov 9) by-election for St Wulfram’s Ward in Grantham.

This represents a “hold” for the Conservative Party.

This means that SKDC’s composition is unchanged at Conservative (part of the South Kesteven Coalition Group) - 24; Democratic Independent Group - 7; Grantham Independent – 7; Independent – 5; Green Party – 4; Liberal Democrat – 4; South Kesteven Independent Group (part of the South Kesteven Coalition Group) – 3; Labour & Co-operative – 2.

Paul Martin (Conservative) was elected to Lincolnshire County Council for the Grantham North Division, also a “hold” for the Party.

Elected: Matt Bailey - The Conservative Party Candidate, 361 votes.

Others – Jonathan Cook (Lab) 173; Anne Gayfer (Green) 145; James Osborn (LibDem) 135; Susan Swinburn (Ind) 233; Dean Ward (Ind) 24.

Turnout: 26.7%

Grantham North Division of Lincolnshire County Council

Elected: Paul Martin - The Conservative Party Candidate, 762 votes.

Others – Jonathan Cook (Lab) 380; Anne Gayfer (Green) 193; Tim Harrison (Ind) 446; Nat Sweet (LibDem) 87; Dean Ward (Ind) 74. Spoiled papers - 24.

Turnout: 23.7%
