Safer Streets

The Safer Streets project is funded by the Government with money awarded to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner to work in partnership with local authorities.

South Kesteven District Council was awarded £172,000 and match funded part of the grant.

The project includes

  • An upgrade of CCTV cameras and increased staffing
  • Weekend Safer Streets patrols
  • The implementation of a radio system linking CCTV, shops, pubs and the police
  • Free self defence classes for anybody over the age of 13
  • Help points 
  • A drink spiking initiative
