South Kesteven District Council is calling residents to get moving to celebrate National Fitness Day taking place on 24th September.
This year’s theme ‘Powered by You!’ aims to help inspire more people to get moving which can help to contribute towards better physical and mental health.
Every movement counts whether that be going for a walk, having a swim or seated exercises. The Council is encouraging residents to move in ways that suit their preference and lifestyle.
National Fitness Day is the day to create healthy habits, powered by you, to make a positive change against inactivity.
Studies have demonstrated that people who exercise on a regular basis have a lower risk of developing many long term health conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. Exercise can also benefit sleep quality whilst boosting physical and mental wellbeing.
Unsure where to start? Let’s Move Lincolnshire has a free activity finder, which residents can use to find activities local to them. The activity finder can be found here https://letsmovelincolnshire.com/find-activities/.
