Little Ponton and Stroxton Community Governance Review

South Kesteven District Council is carrying out a Community Governance Review to consider the future electoral arrangements for the Parish of Little Ponton and Stroxton.

The review is considering a number of options, which are:

  1. To abolish the Parish Council of Little Ponton and Stroxton and re-classify as a Parish Meeting.
  2. To group Little Ponton and Stroxton Parish with Great Ponton Parish Council under a common council (an arrangement where two or more parishes join under a common parish council).
  3. To retain the current arrangements.  The Parish Council of Little Ponton and Stroxton would remain separate to the Parish Council of Great Ponton.

A key part of any Community Governance Review is public consultation.    The first stage of consultation with residents in the Parish of Little Ponton and Stroxton and the neighbouring parish of Great Ponton took place from 8 March until 19 April 2024.

The consultation has now closed.

A printed copy of the survey was sent to all addresses in the parishes of Little Ponton and Stroxton and Great Ponton by post.    A copy of the survey document is available to download here

The Council will consider all feedback received during the consultation period before making draft recommendations.  These will then be subject to further consultation before final recommendations are published and considered by councillors.

Further information about the review can be found below:
