How we make decisions

The council is authorised by legislation to provide services to the public and other organisations. In providing those services, the council is required to make decisions relating to those services.

Each year at its annual meeting, the council will approve a timetable for all public meetings to which the public are welcome to attend.

To provide professional guidance, execute decisions and deliver services, we are divided into six service areas, each led by a Executive Manager. Steering the council as a whole is the Chief Executive, supported by three Strategic Directors. View management structure >>
