Street trading consent

We are responsible for the processing and management of street trading consents and ensuring compliance with the law, in particular food hygiene regulations.

We have designated the whole of South Kesteven a consent area for the sale of goods by the roadside.  This means that you must have consent from us before you can trade.

We issue guidance on the procedures for the granting of consents and process applications to trade. Consents are granted following consultations with the Highways Authority, Planning, Environmental Health, town council, and relevant businesses.

If objections are received, the application will go to the council's licensing committee for a hearing and all interested parties will be invited to attend.

Satisfactory food hygiene standards must be met and maintained. Sites are monitored and regulations enforced where necessary. The service seeks to ensure that legal standards are met by mobile food vendors. Please see our pdf icon Food safety - high risk premises guidance [69kb]
