Street trading consent

We process and manage street trading consents and ensure compliance with the law, in particular food hygiene regulations.

The whole of South Kesteven is a consent area for the sale of goods by the roadside, so you must have consent from us before you can trade. 

We guide you on procedures for granting of consents and process applications to trade. Consents follow consultations with the Highways Authority, Planning, Environmental Health, town council, and relevant businesses.

If objections are received, the application will go to the council's licensing committee for a hearing. All interested parties will be invited to attend.

Satisfactory food hygiene standards must be met and maintained. Sites are monitored and regulations enforced where necessary. The service ensures that legal standards are met by mobile food vendors. Please see guidance below.
