On the 7 January 2013 we resolved to withdraw the Grantham Area Action Plan (GAAP).

The council has decided to cease work on preparing the GAAP and instead move to bring forward a new comprehensive Local Plan for the district.

The GAAP was prepared to provide detailed policies and site allocations for the town of Grantham.  This plan was being prepared alongside the Site Allocation and Policies Development Plan Document.

The decision was made under the provisions of Section 22(1) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended), providing for a local planning authority to withdraw a local development document at any time up to its adoption.

A timetable for the preparation of the Local Plan has been published in a new Local Development Scheme which took effect on the 11 June 2014.

Grantham Town Centre Masterplan

The Grantham Town Centre Masterplan was produced in 2002 and reviewed in 2007.

We consulted extensively with key stakeholders during the drafting of the Masterplan and undertook wide public consultation between August and October 2007. The comments we received during this time were used to help shape the Grantham Area Action Plan (GAAP).
