Bourne Core Area Project Update
This week work to demolish the former Freemans Garage has begun following the closure of Wherry's Lane.
An alternative access has been provided further down Burghley Street and this maintains the access down to North Street.
All businesses on Wherry's Lane remain open for business and will do so during the construction project. Parking is however limited due to the construction works. Wherry's Lane will remain closed until the end of the project in summer 2013.
SKDC's portfolio holder for grow the economy- economic development, Cllr Frances Cartwright said: "The closure of this road is necessary to enable the work on the Wherry's Lane development to continue and the statutory notices were published in the local press to let people know that this would be happening.
"We apologise sincerely for any temporary inconvenience, however we hope that the end result will be well worth the inevitable disruption."
