Build Your Own Eden' is an enterprise activity day for secondary schools in the South Kesteven District Council catchment area. This activity will be aimed at up to 120 students in Year 7 from the 12 secondary schools in the South Kesteven District Council area. The activity will help to develop strong teamwork skills through a hands-on, creative and time pressured task. What will Students do? - Students will work in teams to design a visitor centre in the South
Kesteven area, inspired by The Eden Project in Cornwall. - The team leader will be responsible for ensuring that their team design
and calculates the cost for a themed building based on the same structure as The Eden Project, to develop their awareness of the techniques used by engineers. - Students will be tasked with the creation of a model of their building, which can fit at least 2 members of their team inside.
- At the end of the challenge, the judges comprising of business
professionals will select finalists to present their business pitch to the entire group before selecting a winning team.
