Work experience
South Kesteven District Council offers work experience placements which can range from one day to two weeks in duration. We welcome school students, college/university students and job seekers from all sections of the community.
The council is very keen to help schools in the local area with their Work Experience Schemes. Each academic year a number of students come from a variety of secondary schools to undertake their placement (which usually lasts either a week or a fortnight).
The majority of service areas participate in this scheme as they see it as being of mutual benefit. Where possible, we place students in an area in which they have expressed an interest; some of the most popular are the Arts Centre, Accountancy and Planning.
We hope that the students will gain an insight into the world of work and that it may help them to decide on their choice of career. We see it as a very positive experience for the council as well as for the student.
