Waste & Recycling Sites
An additional place to take your household waste
Please note: from 1st April 2012 the opening hours of the Household Waste Recycling Centres are changing. Please follow the link to Lincolnshire County Council's website for more details or see the PDF file at the bottom of this page.
If you prefer, rather than have us collect it, you can take your household waste and recycling to a licensed household waste recycling site yourself.
Lincolnshire County Council provides two permanent sites for South Kesteven residents - on Alexandra Road in Grantham and Mays Road in Bourne.
These sites accept almost any type of household waste, including fridges and freezers. For full opening hours of the site you are interested in please go to the Household Waste Recycling Centres page on Lincolnshire County Council's website.
You can take builder's rubble and hardcore but they will only take small quantities (the equivalent of one wheelbarrow is the guideline).
Stamford mobile waste collection
The County Council also runs a mobile waste collection service in Stamford each Saturday in the Station Road/Cattle Market car park from 9am to 12pm (leaving earlier if the vehicle is full).
The mobile service cannot accept:
- car batteries
- tyres
- liquid waste
- televisions and computer monitors
- asbestos
- plasterboard
- cookers
- washing machines
- tumble dryers
- microwaves
- bicycles
- central heating radiators
- metal lawnmowers
- rubble and hardcore
- waste from stabling animals
Any amount of green waste can be taken although the mobile collection vehicles might set limits on tree stumps.
Waste from a business is classed as trade waste and cannot be accepted at any site. If you use a company vehicle to carry your household waste, you will need to speak to the staff on site. They might ask you to sign a disclaimer form.
More information can be found on the County Council website.
