Enforcing the Law

Environmental crimes we are responsible for investigating

Our officers enforce the laws on littering, dog fouling, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, fly tipping, the incorrect presentation of waste, commercial waste abuse and flyposting. These offences are covered by the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005, Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003 and the Town & Country Planning Act 1990.

Our officers work with schools and community groups, giving presentations to show how they can get involved in improving their local environment and schools or clubs are encouraged to request that our officers visit them. If you are interested in a visit please contact us using the contact details on the left of this screen.
