Lincolnshire County Council Trading Standards Business Support Team

The Trading Standards Business Support Team aim is to try and assist all Lincolnshire Business in complying with legislation, and they endeavour to do this in a number of ways.

Firstly they hold a large stock of guidance from many partner organisations such as the Office of Fair Trading, the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, Business Link, the Assay Office and many other agencies.

They also produce guidance packs for business in which they try to simplify the areas of law concerned as well as using a format which they feel shows businesses the main points of how to comply in a very user-friendly way. These packs can be accessed via the website .

As a service they also work with many partner organisations on awareness programmes, events, training, business fairs and forums.

The Trading Standards Business Support Team also sign-post businesses to these partners for further assistance in the areas which Trading Standards cannot help with.

The events and seminars for businesses that they run and participate in are usually free of charge and offer businesses a chance to learn about current issues that could affect them. These events are usually administered in conjunction with other agencies so as to maximise the information and assistance available to businesses.

In addition to this they can act as a first point of contact for businesses who may wish to raise a query about an aspect of the law, if they cannot help then they will ensure one of their specialist officers replies, or will locate the relevant knowledge and pass the information onto you.

Overall the Business Support Team want to help Lincolnshire Businesses get it right first time, and can be contacted via 01522 554949 or the website above.
