Community Alarm / Helpline

The District Council is responsible for the provision of monitoring and response services for telephone alarms for elderly and vulnerable residents in the community.

This service provides emergency help and is available to the disabled, elderly, vulnerable or people with special needs.

The special alarm telephone in the home is linked to a central control station in Lincoln. This service is called Lincare and is operated by the City of Lincoln Council that operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year.   There is always someone to answer a call.

When the red button on the telephone unit or special pendant is pressed, the user will automatically be connected to an operator at the control centre at the Lincare control centre.

The operator will know immediately where the alarm call has been made, using information previously given. The operator will enquire as to the situation and organise any further help required. This could be contacting the emergency services, the doctor or the family. It may just be the need for a visit from the mobile warden.

It may be you would make the control centre aware of a temporary absence from home, or simply need to talk to a relative, warden or operator for support or reassurance. The control centre is there to assist.

If you would like any further information about the Helpline Service, how much it costs or wish to request a demonstration of the system and how it works in your home, then please contact by telephoning 01476 40 63 75 or email helpline@southkesteven.gov.uk
