Change for life and local health profile
Eat well, move more, live longer.
The Department of Health in England has launched Change4Life, which aims to help encourage healthier eating and more active lifestyles. This national movement has been launched to tackle the growing problem of childhood obesity, caused by poor diet and sedentary lifestyles.
Locally we are supporting this movement with our own initiatives:
Walk4Life – setting up and supporting led health walks.
Play4Life – encouraging and supporting new and existing play opportunities.
Active4Life – helping people of all ages to lead a more active lifestyle.
Food4Life – helping raise practical cookery skills and increase knowledge and understanding of healthy eating principles.
Local health profile
Health profiles provide a snapshot of health for each local council in England using key health indicators, which enables comparison locally, regionally and over time. They are designed to help local councils and the NHS decide where to target resources and tackle health inequalities in their local area.
