Drinking water

Information about your drinking water supply

The quality of mains drinking water is regulated by the government's Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI). Their task is to check that the local water supply company, Anglian Water, supply water that is safe to drink and meets the standards set in the water quality regulations.

The district council also has a duty to keep itself informed as to the quality of water supplied to local residents and businesses, but has no regulatory powers.
