SKDC - Call For Sites Webpage

The following webpage sets out the context and submission process regarding the SKDC Local Plan Review (2041) Call for Sites.

South Kesteven District Council is now preparing to review its Local Plan to 2041 in line with Policy M1 of the currently adopted Local Plan. The South Kesteven Local Plan review will update the vision, objectives, spatial strategy and policies for the future development of the district, taking account of the latest National Planning Policy Framework updates, particularly in relation to the assessment of housing needs and future requirement for employment land in order to plan for future growth.

As part of this review process the Council needs to establish what land is available for potential development within the District, and therefore, is asking for sites to be submitted through a "Call for Sites process".

The Call for Sites is a technical exercise to identify potential sites for development, redevelopment and alternative uses in which all relevant sites submitted will be assessed for their suitability, achievability and deliverability as a potential allocation within the Local Plan Review. The Call for Sites does not in itself determine whether a site should be allocated for development. It is the role of the assessment to provide information on the range of sites which are available to meet the local authority's needs but it is for the development plan itself to determine which of those sites are the most suitable to meet those requirements.

The Council is seeking the submission of all sites suitable for accommodating new development that can deliver any of the following types of development:

·         Residential (housing) development of five dwellings or more

·         Specialist housing provision, for example older peoples housing.

·         Employment or mixed commercial uses

·         Gypsy and Traveller provision

·         Retail

·         Leisure / community use

·         Any other forms of development

Site Submission Information

Submissions of potential sites must be made by completing the below proforma and including a map which clearly identifies the site, its boundaries and where access can be affected.  The proposed use(s) should also be identified.

Please note that failure to provide a red line boundary of the site will result in the site submission not being taken forward
