In light of the current situation across the country with regards to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Council is carrying out its business in a different way.

Meetings of the Council and its committees will be virtual; this decision has been made in line with current government guidance and is intended to protect both our elected Members and members of the public. We will keep our calendar of meetings updated, so please check the link below for the latest details.

Calendar of council and committee meetings

The Council has developed protocols for planning committee meetings and full Council meetings. Copies of these protocols can be viewed via the links below and they will be kept under review.

During the Covid-19 response period the Leader of the Council amended his scheme of delegation, withdrawing authority from the Cabinet as a collective body to make Key Decisions, reserving the right to make them himself.

The Leader reviewed his scheme of delegation on 15 June 2020 following the Local Authorities and Police and Crime Panels (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority and Police and Crime Panel Meetings) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 and the identification of a remote meeting solution. He also took account of the easing of restrictions and the reduced need for decisions to be made as a matter of urgency. An updated copy of the scheme of delegation can be found below, which re-grants delegated authority to the Cabinet, acting as a committee, to make Key Decisions.

Those decisions that were made by the Leader between 19 March 2020 and 15 June 2020, together with those made by the Chief Executive, are listed at the bottom of this webpage.
