Individuals and groups from across the district are giving their time to the project which starts next month to help spruce up parts of their local communities and improve the cleanliness of their streets.

Volunteers from Market Deeping, Bourne, Grantham, Stamford and villages across the district have pledged their support to the campaign by signing up online or calling 01476 40 60 66.

SKDC's Cabinet Member for Environment Cllr Dr Peter Moseley said: "People's determination to come and help us raise the street standard is very encouraging. We thank each and every volunteer who has come forward to help us with efforts in their part of the district when operations commence in August.

"As soon as volunteer opportunities have been finalised all will be contacted to check if they are free to join a local effort.

"There's plenty of time for everyone to join us so come on board as a volunteer and help us on our journey to make a real environmental difference in your local area."

Residents are encouraged to continue to pinpoint reports of 'grotspots', litter, weeds, fly-tipping and graffiti across the district's 365 square miles.

All can be viewed on the project's heatmap on the webpage where teams will make assessments on the information residents have supplied when operations commence in August.

Keep following #SKBigClean on social media as the project gathers momentum.
