Hundreds attend Wyndham Park Easter Egg Hunt and Duck Race

Hundreds of visitors made the trip to Grantham's Wyndham Park last weekend for the annual Easter Egg Hunt and Duck Race.

Wyndham Park's Easter Egg Hunt was enjoyed by hundreds of children Heritage Lottery

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and BIG Lottery Funded event on April 15 saw SKDC work with Wyndham Park Forum and The Grantham Kesteven Rotary Club to amuse park goers with the activities.

Over 900 duck race tickets were sold for the annual race whilst the trail attracted over 250 children and their accompanying adults and those who finished the park wide route were offered a chocolate reward.

Plastic ducks meanwhile raced the length of the River Witham to a crowd of onlookers who waited patiently for the conclusion of the race as a blustery wind meant the ducks battled the elements to reach the end of the course.

SKDC's Parks Community Engagement Officer Julie Ashworth was on hand all day to help oversee the smooth running of events and work with volunteers.

The raffle for Easter egg prizes was also well supported with £350 raised for future park events.

Proceeds from the Duck Race went to Grantham Kesteven Rotary Club's chosen charities.
