Take part in The Great British Spring Clean in South Kesteven!

Residents in South Kesteven are being asked to help litter pick efforts across the district as part of a nationwide campaign called The Great British Spring Clean.

The Great British Spring Clean

The initiative runs from Friday March 3 to Sunday March 5 and aims to inspire people to take action and enjoy a few hours together litter picking or making pathways and public areas where we live and work cleaner.

Community groups, businesses, parish councils and individuals in Grantham, Marston, Dry Doddington and Westborough are already planning picks across the dedicated weekend with SKDC providing litter pickers, gloves and high vis vests to assist their efforts.

It will build on the successful Clean for the Queen campaign which ran on the same weekend in 2016 and attracted 250,000 people nationwide to join organised litter picks.

SKDC's Executive Member for Environment Cllr Nick Craft said: "The organisers of the litter picks are asking people to take just a short time out of their weekend to join a local clean up effort or pick litter in their own neighbourhood.

"Week in week out the council litter picks across the district but it's great when communities and individuals take time to look after their own areas too.

"Why not join an effort or create your own litter pick between March 3 and 5 to spring clean your neighbourhood?"
