Sites and Settlements Consultation

South Kesteven District Council is preparing a new Local Plan, which will cover the whole district for the period 2011-2036.

The Local Plan will set out the strategy for delivering sustainable development including the vision, objectives and spatial strategy. It will also establish development requirements for the district for the plan period including the amount of housing and employment land needed, and allocate specific development sites to meet that need.

This is the second stage of informal consultation on the new Local Plan.  The focus of this consultation is on 'sites and settlements'.

The consultation seeks views on the following:

  • The suitability of sites received for allocation through the Call for Sites in 2015/2016. Find out more >>
  • The total level of housing and employment land required across the District to 2036
  • The settlement hierarchy, i.e. how should the likes of Grantham and Stamford be considered relative to the smaller settlements
  • The level of new housing and employment that should be permitted at each settlement
