Revision to Bourne Town Centre Redevelopment Supplementary Planning Guidance

There are long term plans to redevelop Bourne Town Centre to improve the quality of the shopping for the people of Bourne and to make better use of some under-developed land in the centre of the town. This ‘core’ area has, since January 2004, been covered by Supplementary Planning Guidance or SPG. The SPG sets out general planning and design principles that will be used to guide the redevelopment of the area.

South Kesteven District Council are proposing some focused revisions to this SPG. These relate to:

  • Updated section on planning policies
  • Amendment to SPG boundary to:
    • Include: 1–4 Clare Court, 7 and 9 Burghley Street, 11, 13 and 15 Burghley Street, 17 and 19 Burghley Street
    • Exclude: land and building to rear of 41 North Street (Wake House)

Before considering whether to approve these changes there is a six week period of consultation, which runs from the 27th March to 4.45pm on the 8th May 2009.

Representations may be made by using a response form which may be downloaded and submitted, via email or post, to the Planning Policy Team at:
