Welcome to the South Kesteven Local Plan. You can use these pages to see a map of the South Kesteven area and view areas of policy as described in the Local Plan written statement. You can also use these pages to show the actual policy for an area of land.

The mapping program has features that allow you to zoom in and out on the map, move around the map and also to show information on policy.

Below is a picture of the main mapping window. Across the top is a menu, a toolbar of options is below this. The main map is displayed on the right of the screen and on the left of the screen is the area to show Policy Information.

Zoom in and out of the map

The two pictures above show the zoom out and zoom in buttons. These can also be selected from the menu across the top of the screen by clicking on the Map menu.
To zoom in

To zoom in on the map

  1. Select the toolbar item zoom in or click ‘Zoom In’ item from the Map menu
  2. Click on the map to zoom in. The map will zoom in and centre on the area you click on

To zoom out on the map

  1. Select the toolbar item zoom out or click ‘Zoom In’ item from the Map menu
  2. Click on the map to zoom out. The map will zoom out and centre on the area you click on

To move the map

  1. Select the toolbar item Move map or click ‘Move’ from the Map menu
  2. 2. Click on the map to recentre the map. It is easiest to click on the edges of the map to move the map in that direction.

To find policy information

  1. Select the toolbar item Information or click ‘Information’ item from the Map menu
  2. Click on a shaded area on the map. The area will be highlighted;

  3. The policy area on the left of the screen will show that the area is selected.
  4. Click on the plus sign to display more information.

  5. The ‘More Details’ link is displayed. Click on this link to show the actual policy information. This will be displayed as an Adobe Acrobat file.
