Just when you thought it could never rain, it comes down in torrents. Cycling in the rain is not much fun - if the drops don't get you, then the spray from the lorries certainly will. So I'm holed up in a town called Kamnic a few miles from Ljubljana in Slovenia, and a very nice place it is too - remarkably different from Croatia.
I realise now why we talk about the weather so much in England. It is because it is so changeable here. When it rains you can expect several days of the same so it could be a while before I venture on into Hungary (perhaps when I run out of cafes). I am currently camped in a barn which keeps me and the tent dry!
Now I'm nearly at the half way point this unexpected break has given me some time to service my bike and work out where I'll be when my daughter Elizabeth comes to do some cycling with me in early July.
